135. JBA — Amjad Ali Khan — 29 min The Music of North India Series Amjad Ali Khan lives in New Delhi. He is a musician who teaches his pupils by the traditional manner in which he himself studied with his uncle, practicing in a group, copying the master, repeating and perfecting. He goes to an instrument shop where sitars, sarods and tampuras are made, using traditional materials and craftsmanship. He gives a concert in his hometown of Gwalior in Central India, in the palace of the Maharajah of Gwalior. The sarod is a deep-toned stringed instrument resembling the guitar.
