46. NFB — Farmers' Union — 32 min The story of how Québec's farmers organized their Union Catholique des cultivateurs, and how it helped to improve farming conditions during its first quarter century. Beginning with the problems the Union was set up to solve, the film describes its educational program and the evidence of its success in more efficient farms, study groups and special services for farmers who worked part—time in the bush. In closing scenes of regional, provincial and international agricultural conferences, we see how the UCC gave Québec farmers a voice in decisions of prime importance to their welfare.
