NFB — Thought for Food — 15 min World War 2 brought Canada food shortages, and at the same time the requirement that soldiers, industrial workers and other people contributing actively to the war effort receive adequate nutrition to keep them in peak physical condition. Detailed nutritional studies revealed that ingenuity combined with a knowledge of food values led to a more varied and more nutritious diet.
